Background

The idea of a web3 virtual event starter kit was inspired by Vercel’s web2 version https://github.com/vercel/virtual-event-starter-kit. We want to offer an easy solution for clients to organize live events, webinars, or hackathons in a web3 format. By adopting a web3 format, users will gain access to the typical web3 user experience that they have when, for example, they interact with decentralized applications. Specifically, we want participants to onboard an event by connecting their wallets, receive a variable ticket proof as NFT, interact with decentralized streaming service and social media, and get a POAP to attend the event.

The product will target web3 clients that will organize a virtual event in their community and look for an out-of-the-box solution. As of today, the main alternative to a web3 virtual event starter kit is to either invest in an in-house solution or rely on web2 solutions. The former alternative represents a high cost and a low return for companies that occasionally organize virtual events. The latter, instead, lacks the web3 user experience that makes the event unique. Therefore, the “Web3 Virtual Event Starter Kit” will meet both needs: offer an easy way to organize and manage virtual events, and offer a solution with out-of-the-box web3 functionalities.

What are the main benefits?

• The web3 virtual event starter kit will be an open-source product. The repo will be publicly accessible on Github, where It can be downloaded and ready to use out of the box. The repo will be maintained by our team. Clients will be able to raise Github issues, which will then be prioritised by our team.
• Reduce event management costs for enterprises. By using a starter kit, clients can create their own platform event without relying on either an internal solution, that has maintenance + development costs, or a third-party solution with usage fees.
• Offer a virtual event product focused on web3 user experience. There are a large number of features included to make the event a web3 unique experience.
• Unlimited event configurability. Create stages. Create events. Create your schedule. Specify the events’ host. Add tabs to specify relevant information, speakers, etc.
• Increase your community engagement by organising virtual events more often. This product aims at creating a seamless experience when it comes to organising a web3 virtual event. We know the importance of communities in this ecosystem and that is difficult to maintain high engagement by just using Discord, Virtual or IRL events are often an energy boost to the community. Organising them should be as easy as possible for you.
