Purpose

Steering Committee is the group of people from the D_D that will help the Fundraising Operators to focus down on details regarding the creation of the agreement between D_D and its spin-off projects. Such a group is needed because someone from the D_D need to decide on the direction with some of the expectations and rules that will be put in place in the agreement and Fundraising Operators can not decide by themselves on those details.

For any discussion on this topic please go to Discord channel fundraising-operators.

Desired outcomes for the Steering Committee

General notes:

The meeting was meant to cover more ground, but ultimately only two first points from this list (tab: “Projects Decisions”) had been covered. We encountered a blocker with regards to the second detail.

In that meeting we were stuck on the topic of % that a spin-off project should give back in equity to the DAO. BluePanda had very big reservations about that approach as he pointed out that in the DAO there are no processes or any program that would actively help Founders with their project's development and all that you can get you can aquire by using what is there in the DAO by yourself. Basically we are a great community, but to use or leverage it you need to do most of the work by yourself. Whereas in SeedDao, Techstars or Y Combibator there is a dedicated route for you to take, workshops put on your path, investing and learning opportunities all structured towards you succeeding in your business. They take you by a hand much more and make it much easier. In contrary in D_D there is no active support other than the $CODE budget and to succeed is to connect with members often in 1:1 conversations to get anything out of it. The biggest advantage might be the access to the community, but that is a given when you are a member of the DAO, you don't have to make a D_D project for that. So before we can expect from those projects to give back equity to the DAO there should be a concrete list of benefits, processes and opportunities waiting for those projects in D_D which is our package for those Founders acting as a part of the deal of giving out the equity. We still need to ideate on that topic as a DAO and create those processes, so every new founder would know exactly what he is getting and for what.
