This is the process we’ll be going through every time we scribe a meeting.

This will happen after you know which meeting you’ll be scribing.

Our goals in scribing a meeting are:

  1. Provide participants with all the necessary context and information. This is in order to enable maximum participation and effectiveness.
  2. Summarize what was said and decided during the meeting, to provide others with clear action items and the ability to gain context.

So what we need to do

  1. We’ll want to reach out to the hosts of the meeting (if unknown, ask around in the relevant channel), and understand from them:

    1. What is the purpose of the meeting
    2. What are the outcomes we want to achieve
    3. What is the agenda

Note that for many “weekly sync” meetings, the purpose and the outcomes can be the same as the previous meetings.

  2. Go to ‣ , and add a new meeting, using an appropriate template. (If your meeting does not have its own template, you can use the generic Meeting Notes Template.)

  3. Then follow the steps described in the Scribes TODOs
