What is Discourse?

Like most other DAOs, Developer DAO has a Discourse forum. The main purpose of the forum is to ensure long-form, threaded, and coherent discussions can be facilitated.

Get started

  1. Why do we use Discourse?

    1. Threaded conversations
    2. Notifications on discussions you're a part of
    3. Discourse is kept simple but tries to preserve context for conversations
    4. Multiple log-in systems
    5. Trust system based on participation
    6. Badges
    7. Open source!
  2. Sign up for an account

To participate fully in Discourse, it is highly recommended that you sign up for an account. You can find it at the top right-hand corner. After signing up, do check your e-mail for the verification code and you can start taking part!

  3. Choose your preferences

Participating in Conversations

Let's use a real-life example to illustrate how you can participate in Developer DAO's discussions!

  1. Copying a link to the post

Sometimes you might want to share interesting conversations with other members in the DAO such as in Discord or your personal messages. That can be easily done by clicking on the chain.

  1. Bookmarking

You can make a bookmark of posts that you'd like to track. It basically acts as a "remind me" function and gets you to check back on the post.

One way to use this is to track discussions that happen over a long period of time. That way you can make sure you do not miss out on any important information.
