- newer members may not know that
voice-chat-5
is an open working space, or that theyβre welcome to jump in and stream and ask for help
- how can we make this social space more welcoming and obvious to new members?
- renaming the channel to make it more obvious
- full time vibes
- coworking
- D_D pairing
- we have a pairbot
- we seem to have a lot of members that would benefit from individual pairing sessions
- how can we begin to organize this process?
- team to manage pairing spreadsheet and process?
- connect members seeking to teach X with members seeking to learn X
- potential success metrics
- number of members leading sessions
- number of members participating in sessions
- number of sessions per week
- πΒ Org information hygiene
- Currently difficult to give new members a home without needing to pass them off to a person involved in a project or team to get them up to speed
- Each project/team/space/etc. should follow some basic hygiene recommendations to make it easy to funnel in new members
dropknowledge
: shared a template (https://www.notion.so/developerdao/eebb456e916741db8697fd9424481401)
- will clean that up to be re-usable
tranqui
: condense meeting notes into a single page for each project/team
- currently difficult to search because notes are across multiple pages
- hard to glean context
- Recommendations
- Discord channel descriptions should give high-level overview of space, with links to important resources (GitHub, Notion page, etc.)
- A pinned message could contain more detailed information if necessary
- Notion page that documents the space
- How does the team work?
- Rituals
- Schedule
- How to best get involved if youβre new
- What are the teamβs roles?
- Leadership
- Scribes
- Coordinators
- Etc.
- What is the team working on?
- Meetings should have notes taken by scribes
- Live notes added to document
- Condensed into reviewable summary
Notes
- π£οΈΒ Guild social mechanisms
- Onboarding updates (wiseTy)
- A survey is being created to follow up with onboarded members to get know their perspectives and pain points.
- Help the team know areas for improvement
- Are new members able to go from onboarding to their first contribution? if not, why?
- Need to connect with Community Guild to talk about how meshing the DAO wide onboarding with the Dev Guild onboarding would work
- A team of around 8 people volunteered. Some members are able to do onboarding call along with Ty. Approx 2-3 members are able to actively onboard others on their own.
- Wide range of outcomes from onboarded members ranging from no responses to some diving in to working on projects/ working on other initiatives not part of the DAO yet.
- What is an Onboarding Session like?
- A 1:1 conversations with new members
- Like a vibes call
- Ask members what are their dreams, or what they expect from the DAO
- Notes from every call are documented
- Members are welcomed to relevant channels they are interested in at the end of calls. They are tagged in those channels to be introduced.
- Follow up after a week
- Mentorship discussion (with
ntindle
hopefully?)
- Pairing discussion
